The start of it all

Chris Richards, owner of Red Dog Construction, began his career in 1995 framing homes in the Pacific Northwest. After gaining several years of experience in residential construction, he transitioned into commercial work as a union carpenter and foreman. In this role, he led hands-on construction efforts while managing teams on large-scale projects, including warehouses, hotels, schools, and other complex builds, further expanding his expertise and leadership in the industry.

A New direction

In 2006, God took Chris and his family on a new path as he pursued training in the farrier trade. For the next 14 years, he successfully owned and operated his own horseshoeing business. During that time, Chris also designed and built several custom homes, buildings, and other projects—further fueling his enduring passion for construction and craftsmanship.

Back to his roots

In 2019, Chris was inspired to return to his roots in construction—a decision that quickly proved to be the foundation of something special. From that vision, Red Dog Construction, Inc. was established. What began with Chris and a passion for building has since grown into a dedicated team that operates more like a family than a crew.
